These bowls are always very popular but become available only very infrequently. So if you see one you like, don't hesitate or you may well lose it! The reason is that Peter makes them from weights that contain a tiny mistake (in many cases you'll be hard-pressed to spot them!). This is reflected in the low price. Any of Peter's weights that have anything other than a minor flaw are destroyed, just like at Perthshire.

This bowl is what is known as a salvage piece as there is a very small bubble in the weight. This is in the branch on which birds are sitting. However it does not detract from the attractiveness of the bowl. The garland features John's Clichy-style roses and the weight is set on blue aventurine. John's sticker is on the base.

Having tested lots of different samples from all over the world it was evident that no single design is perfect for all sizes/types of weights. However these designs stood out as being the best overall of the many we tested. They're made from clear plastic and suit most paperweights and other small flat glass items.
If you'd like advice as to which stand best fits your paperweight please do ask.
NEW ARRIVAL
VariStand
The Varistand allows weights to be displayed at a variety of angles thanks to the support being able to be adjusted backwards and forwards. It's also suitable for a range of sizes including faceted weights as can be seen from the picture below. It's well-priced too!
Our other stands
The 3 point "Ghost" stands are hardly visible, enabling weights to be displayed for maximum effect. The weights do have to be the right size to fit though.
The "Armchair" design displays weights well, and is especially suitable for faceted weights. One size only.
The Perthshire stands used to be sold by this paperweight maker and are now available again. They're excellent for weights from a little under 2 1/2 up to 3 ins (60-75mm).

The weight shown on this stand is Peter McDougall's G24. It measures 2 inches/50mm in diameter.
This stand is suitable for a range of weights. Shown here is John Deacons' Pressed Torsade which is exclusive to Paperweights Plus. It measures 2½ inches/65mm in diameter.
This stunning magnum double overlay encasement by John Deacons measures 3¾ inches/92mm displays perfectly on this stand.
Peter McDougall's bowl which measures 4¼ inches/105mm is held securely on this stand.
This stand is extremely versatile. It is suitable for a variety of different weights but is particularly suited to faceted ones. Shown here is John Deacons Faceted Ruby Cushion. This measures just over 2¾ inches/75mm in diameter.
These are now out of stock and at present we're unable to obtain more from our supplier.
This stand was originally sold by Perthshire and is again available. It holds a variety of weights very securely. A 2¾ inch/75mm Willie Manson weight is shown in the picture.
